This time last year we were at a crossroad in the life of our Church. Pastor Al and Sharon announced the date of their retirement and we were seeking the Lord as to how to move forward with the ministry.

At that time we entered into an agreement with Southeast Church Extension to begin steps to finding a Pastor for our congregation. They have graciously provided us with pastoral leadership throughout the year and shepherded us along the path.

For reasons that we don’t understand our Lord has not provided a permanent Shepherd for us. In addition, we have had several families move away in the interim. As you know we have been beseeching the Lord for “Pioneer Families” over the last year and that request has not been fruitful in a way we expected.

With much prayer and counsel from the Southeast Church Extension leadership, we’ve made the decision to bring the ministry of Community Bible Church to a close.

Our last Sunday worshipping together will be June 10th.  We will have a time of celebration reflecting on all that God has done through the ministry.  We will include a Communion Service as well as a Baby Dedication.  There will be no Sunday School that morning and we will share a breakfast meal at 9:30.

God has directed us to a Church Plant in Spartanburg that is very excited to receive all of our furnishings as they move into a new location.

We know that our Lord has used this ministry over its lifetime to bring many brethren to maturity and we are confident that as He disperses us to other churches in the area that He will use our talents and gifting to continue to build the Kingdom leading up to His return.
